Newbury Oak Automation

What does your team do again and again that software and AI could be doing instead?

We're building automated systems for our own business, so we understand what it takes to make repetitive work reliable. We can help you look at where the same tasks keep coming round, and what could realistically take them off someone's plate.

Talk to us about your repetitive work

Where we can help

What keeps coming back round?

A few places we can start.

  • Work that gets copied between systems

Tell us where information has to move from one tool to another by hand. We can look at whether it needs to.

  • Research or preparation that repeats itself

If someone's doing the same groundwork over and over, tell us what it involves. We can look at what could be done for them.

  • Handoffs that slow things down

Tell us where work sits and waits for someone to pass it along. We can look at where that could happen without the wait.

  • Routine admin and communication

Organising new enquiries, preparing a reply for someone to send, or passing a support request to the right person. We can assess which steps would benefit from automation and where a person should make the decision.

How we approach automation

People involved at every stage

We're a British team with corporate, business and technical experience, and we bring that same practical judgement to automation. We start small: agreeing exactly what a task involves, what it's allowed to touch, and what should happen when something doesn't fit the usual pattern. We'll normally build a prototype and run it under supervision before it takes on more.

People shape the process, decide which steps can run automatically and improve it as the business changes. We agree clear boundaries and a way for someone to take over when an exception needs attention. The aim is less repetitive work, more consistency and more time for the work that benefits from your team's judgement.

Our own experience

We're building this into our own business too

We already use an internal assistant for research and tracking queued work, with people setting its scope and deciding what happens next. We're developing the wider workflows and recovery arrangements around it, so we're clear about which parts are working and which are still being built.

That experience comes from our own business. For yours, we start with your processes, agree the permissions and test the proposed changes with the people who will use them.

How we work

First, we look at the actual task

We'd rather be straight with you early than promise something we can't deliver.

  • Tell us what's repeating

The task, how often it happens, and who's doing it now.

  • We agree scope and permissions

Exactly what it should be allowed to do, and what should make it stop and ask.

  • We test it under supervision

A prototype, run under supervision, with an agreed exception path for anything that doesn't fit the pattern before it takes on more.

  • We agree success criteria and cost

How much time the task takes now, what a useful improvement would look like, and the cost and scope before we begin.

When it needs custom software

If what you need goes beyond connecting existing tools together, and really calls for something purpose-built, our Software team can help with that too.
